Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue requires many retailers to report every sale in real time through an integrated point-of-sale system. Each invoice gets an FBR invoice number and QR code that customers can verify.
Who needs to integrate?
Tier-1 retailers — including chain stores, large outlets and businesses meeting FBR thresholds — must integrate. Service providers may also need to comply with provincial authorities such as PRA, SRB, KPRA and BRA.
How integration works
- Register your business and outlets with FBR and obtain POS credentials.
- Configure the credentials in your POS software.
- Each sale is transmitted to FBR, which returns an invoice number printed on the receipt with a QR code.
- If the connection drops, invoices are queued and submitted automatically.
Common mistakes
- Using a separate app for FBR and another for billing — totals never match.
- No offline queue — sales stop when the internet does.
- Ignoring provincial tax on services.
Both CloudPOS and TaxPro PK support FBR, PRA, SRB, KPRA and BRA workflows. Talk to us about switching.
